How do I get my tax refund under the new rules?
- Show your passport at an Ocean partner store.
- Buy your items at the tax-inclusive price.
- The store registers your passport and purchase record.
- Sign up for an Ocean account, log in, and register your personal details and refund method.
- Leave Japan within 90 days, counting from the day after your purchase.
- Complete customs confirmation before you check your baggage.
- After customs confirmation, the eligible refund amount goes into your Ocean Wallet. Log in to Ocean and tap "Withdraw" to have Ocean send the payment using your registered refund method. Please withdraw within 180 days after customs confirmation.
