To qualify for tax-free shopping in Japan, you must have entered Japan within the past six months. This includes foreign tourists and Japanese nationals who are temporarily returning from overseas.
The following individuals are not eligible:
- Diplomats and government officials
- U.S. military personnel stationed in Japan
At the time of purchase, the store will verify your entry status using your passport and landing permission certificate. Please make sure to bring your original passport with you when shopping.
